Webinar: Retrospective research in eye health
Here is a snapshot and recording of the webinar we recently hosted on the topic of Retrospective research in eye health: Generating evidence to inform policy and practice.

Lot of patient-specific data captured at eye hospitals is unutilised to a large extent for research and publication. Most often, this valuable data is unused to inform policy and/or practice. To address this issue, Mission for Vision organised a webinar on the topic of Retrospective research in eye health: Generating evidence to inform policy and practice on 27th January 2021. We brought together a panel of experts to discuss various opportunities that the world of research offers for eye health and other domains.

The webinar helped institutions with some practical steps to translate patient data into meaningful evidence and encouraged eye hospitals to actively engage in conducting research.

The webinar attendees got to hear from eminent eye health experts and leaders from the research domain. The panelists included:

  • Prof. GVS Murthy, Director, Indian Institute of Public Health (Keynote Speaker)
  • Dr. Sabyasachi Sengupta, Associate Editor, Indian Journal of Ophthalmology and Founder of Sengupta’s Research Academy
  • Dr. R.R. Sudhir, Head, Dept. of Preventive Ophthalmology, Sankara Nethralaya Medical Research Foundation
  • Dr Shalinder Sabherwal, Head of Community Ophthalmology and Public Health Research, Dr. Shroff's Charity Eye Hospital
  • Mr. Prem Kumar SG, Manager-Research, Mission for Vision (Moderator)
