Mission Disha
Good vision is crucial for road safety, especially for heavy vehicle drivers who spend long hours navigating challenging environments. To address this issue, the Mission Disha programme takes proactive measures to enable easy access to high-quality eye care and necessary treatment for heavy vehicle drivers and individuals in various work settings. While initially focusing on heavy vehicle drivers, the programme has expanded its coverage to include artisans, carpenters, weavers, and other professionals.
Individuals are screened and then advised for spectacles, surgery, and other interventions as needed as well as provided eye health education. Screenings are conducted in major hubs where truck drivers congregate. The Mission Disha programme is constantly scaling up and reaching out to other public vehicle drivers and skilled workers to promote the motto of “Vision at Workplaces”.
