When you're 75 years old, doing even the simplest tasks could become challenges. And that's what 75 year-old Sukuram encountered everyday. Being a lone widower with his daughters married, did not make things any easier. |

Over the past few years, Sukuram was further burdened with failing eye sight. It got to a point where he was reduced to mere finger counting. Not long after, one of his daughters was ousted by her in-laws. She moved in with her father and helped take care of him. Worried about his failing eye sight, she took her father to the camp conducted by MFV partner Sri Sankardeva Nethralaya Hospital. Sukuram was diagonised and recommended for surgery.
Today Sukuram's visual acuity has improved. He has found his smile back and is making plans for his daughter's future.
"I can see my daughter's future again" says Sukuram Rabha from Garopara village, Kamrup district, Assam. |
