At 50, Joga Singh is the sole breadwinner for his family of 4 in Ludhiana, Punjab. His craft of stitching intricate designs on garments requires 20/20 vision. When his vision started dropping, so did his wages. |

Naturally, this put immense economic pressure on him and his family. So when he heard about the outreach programmeme by MFV partner Sankara Eye Hospital, he did not miss it. He was diagnosed with cataract in both eyes and taken to the base hospital. He was operated in the left eye. As he awaits the surgery for his right eye, the good visual acuity of 6/9 in his left eye has helped him get back to work and he is back to earning a livelihood for his family and himself. |
