Most people retire from active work at 58, but not Subhas Deshmukh. At 68, he lives alone in tiny 10 feet x 10 feet rented room in Sinna, Nashik. His job in a general goods store as a daily wage worker earns barely enough for his needs.
So when he developed cataracts that hampered his vision, it was cause enough to panic. After all, how does a daily wage worker earn a living if he can barely see? |

Soon after, Subhash attended a MFV-supported outreach camp and underwent surgery at the Tulsi Chanrai Eye Hospital. Now blurry vision is a thing of his past. With restored eyesight, he is back at work. But most importantly, he is happy that he regained his independence. |
