In our endeavours to build quality assurance in our programme, eminent ophthalmologist and resource person Dr. Uday Gajiwala conducted a quality assessment of clinical protocols at Ramkrishna Mission Hospital, Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh) and Bansara Eye Care Centre, Shillong (Meghalaya). Mission for Vision believes that such assessments add much value in delivering high quality care to the communities we serve.
MFV's Head of Programme Development, Sabitra Kundu, attended the October summit at LAICO, Madurai. The workshop was aimed at strengthening Tertiary Eye Care through Vision Centres and Universal Health Coverage. Attending seminars and courses such as these, where best practises and learnings are shared by global experts and participants, we are able to update our work accordingly. It also helps in learning of the latest innovations from across the country (and often abroad) which can be replicated in our programmes, if found suitable. Additionally, it also helps in introducing MFV's work to the global eye health community.

Smoking is bad for your eyes (and the rest of your body too). Research has linked smoking to an increased risk of developing age-related macular degeneration, cataracts, and optic nerve damage, all of which can lead to blindness.
